Learn To Meet Ladies - Sometimes Revealed Secrets In Magic Are A Good Thing

If you have ever done a magic trick for someone you will know that after you are

done they always say, "tell me how you did it!" Most of us magicians then reply with some lame version of "I am a magician and we don't tell our secrets". People love magic and people love to know how it's done. Most people though won't invest the time it takes to really practice and work on a trick so that they can perform it themselves. In the end they get a rush just knowing the secret.

You may remember several years back there was a guy who got famous on Fox TV for revealing the secrets of magic. His show revealed illusions for everyone to see. He was billed as a famous illusionist himself. Actually this guy was little more than a hack who had a sub par dove act that he used to have a small act in some of the clubs in Vegas. I will never forget watching the show one Friday night when he revealed how the dove box worked.

This bothered me a great deal because the very next day I had a big show coming up in which I was to use the dove box in my biggest part of the act. There was no way I could take it out of the act and it was too late to do something different. I just figured that I would be most likely laughed off the stage because they all knew how it was done now.

It was weird because the very next day I did the trick and got the normal cheers. I was totally relieved and thought somehow I had squeaked by without anyone seeing the trick revealed from the night before. At the end of the show a man came over to talk to me. He had a sly grin on his face as he said "I saw last night on TV how they do that dove box thing". To which I replied "really?"with a smile. He said, "yeah, but...I forgot how it's done, you were awesome!"

Sometimes we should be less worried about the secrets of magic and more interested in gaining the attention of the person you are entertaining. Now I am not saying you should go around revealing magic secrets. What I am saying is to stop being so darn nerdy when it comes to magic. This is supposed to be fun. When you are using magic to get a date with a girl give away a secret. Most likely she will forget it by the next day anyway.
