Kendal Castle is a fantastic place to visit, as it has beautiful grounds and lovely scenery and view over Kendal town. It is great to find out more about the castle and how it came to be there and of the famous person being Katherine Parr, the sixth and last Queen of Henry VIII. The Castle is great to enjoy a long walk on the tops or woodland area and once you've worked up an appetite then you can put a blanket down and enjoy a picnic and take in the scenery and Kendal views and fill your belly, whether it is with your family or just a romantic lunch for two.
At the Kendal Museum it has expeditions and talks on this castle and they show displays and reconstructions of the castle and much more history of the town, which is very interesting and informative for you and your family, giving you a great knowledge of the history of not only the Castle but the town and surrounding area. All Schools are encouraged to visit the Museum; they offer activities, talks and training courses to engage the school children to learn about local and global history. It homes a shop which allows people of all ages to take away an item to keep a memory of the visit.
The Parish Church is a beautiful breath taking building inside and out, it is one of the biggest churches in England holding up to 1200 people. The inside of the building is clean, fresh, and light with its large colourful windows and original features. The church is surrounded by green lawn and is on the riverside which is lovely for photographs whether it be a wedding or christening or even visiting on your holiday. The Church itself is worth having a photo of especially at night due to its spectacular lights leaving it to shine in all the right places.
