Learning English
Saying this may make me a little silly, but it is obviously that more and more people in all classes start to learn English all over the world
. Not only in those non-English-speaking countries such as China, Korean, etc, but also in American, France and Germany, people are trying any method to learn English better. Why? Just because that the United State is leading the world in some meaning, and the world's business and politics are leading by these English speaking government.
Living in China, I do deeply feel that there is being heat for
English learning, and other foreign languages learning, languages as Spanish, French which are my favourite two languages, and German, also Arabic. People here take language courses in local training center or on-line education. I still remember that Li Yang's Crazy English was so much heat in the last few years. I do not know if it is still hot now, but I can feel the situation that it's P decreases due to the increasing of many other language learning software and courses.
It is quite different between foreigners and Chinese learning a language. I admit that the student in colleges and universities in China have better chance to learn a foreign language, but they still don't do very well. Because they regard it as a HOMEWORK. Back here, foreigners have lots of method to learn a foreign language, by join in language courses, using language software (one of the most popular now is Rosetta Stone), take part in lot of free on-line courses. But for Chinese, the way people most choose is to take classes.
After having four years in university, I learn deep from my English courses. I realize that it is totally not enough for you to remember the words, phrases, grammar, sentences and usage of English, the most important thing is to develop your opinion in English. You should think in English, speak as English and manner your life in English. And all these element make people believe that the most effective way to learn English is to send them to English-speaking countries. Because you have to learn, speak, and think in English otherwise you could not handle with your daily life.
However, for those people who don't have a chance to live and learn over seas, the following tips I collected may be useful for you.
Tips for English learning
First, Use all of your resources. Even if you study English at a language school it doesn't mean you can't learn out of class. Using as many different sources, methods and tools as possible, will allow you to learn faster. There are many different ways you can improve your English, so don't limit yourself to only one or two. The Internet is a fantastic resource for virtually anything, but for the language learner it's perfect.
Second, Surround yourself with English. The absolute best way to learn English is to surround yourself with it. Take notes in English, put English books around your room, listen to English language radio broadcasts, watch English news, movies and television. Speak English with your friends whenever you can. The more English material that you have around you, the faster you will earn and the more likely it is that you will begin "thinking in English"
Third, Listen to Native speakers as much as possible. You may have foreigners around you, maybe your teachers or neighbour. You should try to imitate the native speakers of their natural flow to speech. The more you do, the closer you get to the English.
Forth, Do exercises and take tests. Many people think that exercises and tests aren't much fun. However, by completing exercises and taking tests you can really improve your English. One of the best reasons for doing lots of exercises and tests is that they give you a benchmark to compare your future results with. Often, it is by comparing your score on a test you took yesterday with one you took a month or six months ago that you realize just how much you have learned. If you never test yourself, you will never know how much you are progressing. Start now by doing some of the many exercises and tests on this site, and return in a few days to see what you've learned. Keep doing this and you really will make some progress with English.
They are almost good tips to learn English, but the most important point is that You should Have Fun in Learning It.
