Are you one of those dog owners who have this common problem on dog pulling? Leash training or lead training has being the major discussion on most dog trainer's lips even to dog owners. Leash dog training is equally as popular as any other form of dog training within the expert dog training environment when done properly the result is effectively and quickly.

So what is leash training and how do you leash train your dog?

This is used to control or correcting the movement of your dog and gently tugging on the leash to force the dog to go where you want it to go. First step is to establish you as an "Alpha Dog", remember dogs are pack animals and will heed and follow the alpha dog. So to achieve these you will have to exercise some patience for your dog to cultivate this new habit of leash training, remember all dog training takes time to adapt.

When starting leash training, start in your home and then work your way to a more interesting places and more crowed place. Ok let's say you want to start at home, remember most dogs are not comfortable with the use of collar while some are excited to get it on, train your dog to "sit' and "stay" first before training your dog to take on a leash, some dogs will struggle around and run while trying to put on the lead or collar on them that is why the command "sit and stay" is very important.

Next, take a walk around your compound, it is natural tendency for him to pull, just resist him by standing still and holding grip to the leash, and gently change direction, keep repeating it until he get use it.

Once he get use to the various commands at any point in time and location, ensure you reward him, as this will yield obedience training and dog smartness. Keep the above training and the result will amaze you.
