Led Tv Repair Tips Before Replacing Your Set

One of the latest tech advances in entertainment is the LED TV

. These machines offer great picture quality in a thin casing. But, no matter how hard you fight it, things can happen that will lead to a costly LED TV repair. If the damage is minor, try fixing it yourself before you take it to a shop.

A stuck or dead pixel is when a single point on the screen either stays lit or goes completely dark. A couple in the same area can lead to a distorted picture. The common cause is transistor malfunction or that the liquid crystal in the display is not distributed properly.

If you've ever watched a show in standard format on your widescreen, you'll notice to thick black bands on either side of the screen. When you go back to watching in the appropriate format, you may notice the area where the two dark bands are will have pixels that are a little darker. This is picture burn-in.

Try these fixes first before buying a new set. Tuck a pen tip down into a damp washcloth and find the dead pixel on your screen. Then stick the pen and cloth onto the area and press gently. Make sure you don't damage any surrounding pixels, too. With the pen in place, turn off the TV. When you turn it on again the pixel should be fine.

Another option involves tapping on the dad pixel. Using something like a permanent marker with a thin cap, tap the cap end on the dead pixel until you see a white glow. Keep tapping until the pixel is repaired, using more pressure if needed. Again, be careful that you don't tap too hard and scratch or dent the screen.

To use it, just turn of your TV and plug in the device. Then turn your set back on. After twenty minutes, turn it off again and disconnect the pixel repair machine.
