He had a lisp and thus he pronounced it as Lelly. The children's parents found this adorable and hence they combined the two words and came up with the name of their new company that would make shoes especially for little girls. Thus in nineteen hundred and ninety two Lelli Kelly shoes was born.

Now more than a decade after the brand has gained recognition and almost two decades after it was first established, it has more than a dozen competitors of all kinds from Europe and around the world.
