Suppose that if a girl buys a pair of leather shoes of high quality at the price of 3200 Yuan and the price seems to be rather high, but if the CPW is calculated, the result will be not as is. If she can wear the shoes for 350 times, than 3200 is divided by 350 and the CPW would be 9.15 Yuan. But if she buys a pair of shoes of low quality at the price of 50 Yuan, and after she has wore them for two or three times, she may be unwilling to wear them, then the CPW will be around 20 Yuan, much higher than the former pair of shoes. It can be clear that the former purchase is a wiser choice.

Similarly, the CPW can be applied to consumption or investment in other fields. When one decides whether to buy an item, he should consider the frequency of using it and those items which will be seldom used will have too high CPW and can not be a good deal. Therefore, price is not the only factor deterring whether the investment is worthwhile. Those commodities with higher CPW will take up much resource. When one checks his home, he will feel a pity that there are so many items of this kind. In this way, his habit of consuming or investing needs to be changed. On one hand, this can save much resource; on the other hand, this can allow him much room to enjoy both the external place and inner place.
