Lets Not Lose Out On The Christmas Party In 2011

2010 has been for many an unstable year financially

, yet, many still did put on their best frocks and spent a night with friends and colleagues partying at the annual Christmas party. But still, there was many who lost out in the aim of saving money in 2010, instead spending what should have been their one night out of the year, wrapped up next to the radiators, watching a re-run of Coronation Street.

It came as a shock to many that this year (2010) there was to be no Christmas party for the office, including the Betsi Cadwaladr University NHS trust, who found their Christmas party shunned for economic reasons and religious minorities. These given excuses were seemingly inappropriate, due to no complaints from ethnic minorities and the fact that the Christmas party fund was built upon public donations, not NHS funding. Its understandable that the nurses at the Betsi Cadwaladr University NHS trust felt somewhat outraged at the Trusts decision, which was later changed. After the press got a hold the news, when questioned the trust suddenly and conveniently contracted their prior statements, stating that a discounted Christmas meal would be available for staff and a annual Christmas party in the future.

Hitting the news in 2010 was the shocking revelation that the Queen was not to hold a Christmas party for her members of staff. Over 600 members of staff usually attend the Royal Christmas party, where the Royal family and the staff intermingled, dancing the night away. Normally costing a whopping 50,000, the party was cancelled to show restraint in the difficult economic circumstances. Understandably, many felt disappointed as the Royal Christmas party is one of the biggest highlights of the year for the hard working staff at the Royal Palace. Lets hope next year, the Queen decides to hold her Christmas parties, despite economic circumstances.

Sadly, some have lost out in 2010. But that doesnt mean you necessarily have to in 2011. With shared Christmas parties at lower prices and up to 150 per person (tax free) that can be spent on a corporate party, you can afford to have a Christmas party for your office in 2011. Maybe someone should clue in the Queen
