Let's Procrastinate Tomorrow!
When life in general just seems too tough to deal with
, let's procrastinate and put it all off until tomorrow. Doesn't sound like a bad idea now does it?
Procrastination can be a hard thing to do all the time too. It may even be harder than you think it is. For example, do you know what the Procrastinator's Creed is? It is a must know for all career procrastinators.
Procrastinator's Creed
1. I believe that if anything is worth doing, it would have been done already.
2. I shall never move quickly, except to avoid more work or find excuses.
3. I will never rush into a job without a lifetime of consideration.
4. I shall meet all of my deadlines directly in proportion to the amount of bodily injury I could expect from missing them.
5. I firmly believe that tomorrow holds the possibility for new technologies, astounding discoveries, and a reprieve from my obligations.
6. I truly believe that all deadlines are unreasonable regardless of the amount of time given.
7. I shall never forget that the probability of a miracle, though infinitesimally small, is not exactly zero.
8. If at first I don't succeed, there is always next year.
9. I shall always decide not to decide, unless of course I decide to change my mind.
10. I shall always begin, start, initiate, take the first step, and/or write the first word, when I get around to it.
11. I obey the law of inverse excuses which demands that the greater the task to be done, the more insignificant the work that must be done prior to beginning the greater task.
12. I know that the work cycle is not plan/start/finish, but is wait/plan/plan.
13. I will never put off tomorrow, what I can forget about forever.
14. I will become a member of the ancient Order of Two-Headed Turtles (The Procrastinator's Society) if they ever get it organized.
This is a little procrastination humor, I hope. It is not intended to be taken seriously. For those of you who do live by several of those codes, you really need help with procrastination. Stop taking those steps to procrastination and putting things off until tomorrow.
Let's procrastinate another day. Go from procrastination to motivation. But there isn't a switch to do that! Are there ways to stop procrastinating and live your life again? Yes, there are. Here are a couple of methods which have worked quite well:
Organization and Time Management: Seems like a lot to tackle, but this combination of techniques should be started with baby steps or small manageable tasks. Take small areas of your life's cluttered being and block out an amount of time in which to do it. Organization also entails writing a list of items that you need to do and number them in priority. Then set a time schedule for which you will work on that (with no interruptions) and stick to it.
Now don't go and say "let's procrastinate about it". That will defeat the purpose. You have to be dedicated and strong willed to change your habits of procrastination.
Hypnosis for Procrastination: Since being a procrastinator primarily involves your subconscious mind, it is fitting to use hypnosis, which addresses the subconscious. We procrastinate out of habit. Sometimes there is no thought process used. You just do it. Hypnosis makes suggestions to your subconscious mind to override those habitual bad habits.
Success has been relatively high with self-hypnosis in helping fix procrastination and increasing motivation.
What works on some people won't work on others. You have to make the decision to stop procrastinating and live life to the fullest. There are a lot of opportunities out there for you and it would be sad if you missed out on them because you can't stop procrastinating.
Take a look at yourself and decide if you want to continue missing out on life or get help with procrastination. The choice is yours. You can't win the race until you stop hearing " let's procrastinate ".
