Let's Talk Conversion, Website Traffic Equals Sales?

Are you getting traffic to your site but your visitors are not acting the way you want them to

? The phone is not ringing, the emails are not flowing and the shopping cart has no orders? If this is the case you are not alone, so what can we do to create better web site conversions statistics?

The most obvious is to take a long look at your web site and ask if it is set up for maximum conversion? The most painful thing you will have to do is scrap your site and start over. As long as the site looks trustworthy visitors tend to feel comfortable with a site. Too many clicks or too much confusion to find what they are looking for to meet their needs it may be goodbye forever.

Ok let's discuss the solution:

1. Get rid of the music or any sound on page load. How many people do you think surf at work at their cubicle when they need to be doing their daily tasks? If music blast from their cubicle as a page opens they will be clicking away as soon as possible!

2. People read websites from top left to bottom right. Your most valuable information should be along that line such as contact information and your primary message. Top right is where you can put your wiz bang if you really need one. 3. The typical surfer takes 2 to 7 seconds to decide if they have hit a site that meet their needs. Make it pleasing and informational as much as you can and don't forget the top left to bottom right rule.

4. Light blues and greens have found to be the colors that put people at ease. Try to incorporate these colors as your primary. If you hate blue and green or more importantly they do not match your logo we suggest using a light version of your colors.

5. Build trust with testimonials from clients. Unless you're Wal-Mart or Best Buy then your prospects probably won't know much about you. Start building creditability right away.

6. Build more trust with mentions and logos of associations you belong to such as the local chamber, better business bureau or industry associations.

7. Don't forget your privacy statement especially if you are asking for personal information on a form or shopping cart.

If your follow these simple rules on your redesign I think you may see some better results.
