Leveling a Rogue - What to Do and What Not to Do
The Rogue is one of the easiest classes to level in WoW
. Both newbies and experienced players alike take up this class for it's massive slaughter ability. However, leveling up with a rogue can be tricky and you can end up spending a lot of time and gold on unnecessary things. To level up quickly, here are three things you should do and three things you should avoid.
You Should ... Quest as much as you can until level 20.
Until you get to level 20, questing will speed up your leveling. Quest until you're ready to move up to the next zone, then keep questing again.
You Should ... Choose the Right Talents
The combat talent tree and the assassination talent tree are both important to the rogue. You should max on Improved Sinister Strike, Relentless Strike, Improved Eviscerate, Lethality, Malice, Murder, Improved Kidney Shot and Remorseless attacks.
You Should ... Choose the Right Gear
It's not just how much damage an armor can dampen that matters. It's also the effect it has on Agility, Stamina and Critical rating that matters.
Generally, it's better to go with a sword rather than a dagger because of the higher DPS.
Avoid ... Spending too Much Time at the Auction House
It can be very tempting to spend time at the auction house. If you want to level up quickly however, spending that time killing mobs is a far better use of your time than the AH.
Avoid ... Flushing Money Down the Drain
Rogues can wear leather armor, which helps make gear cheaper. Armor drops tend to be quite common. Avoid spending money on gear that you'll just be dumping in a few levels.
Avoid ... Holding on to Talent Points
People often hold on to talent points because they haven't decided what to do with them yet. Bad move. The longer you hold on to talent points, the less monsters you're killing per minute because you have less skills. Use your talent points to level up faster.
