Lg Blu-ray Disc Player Review
LG has slowly been sewing up the lower end of the home entertainment system market
with items such as its LG BD670 3D Wireless Network Blu-ray Disc Player with Smart TV that not only enriches your video experience by bringing full high-definition 3D video to your HDTV, but also brings you true Dolby TruHD sound and more.
While it has been interesting to watch the high-end of the home electronics market come out with development after development and improvement after improvement such as better blu-ray players, more native mode high-resolution 3D players and the like, LG has been staking its claim to the lower-priced arena by presenting devices such as the BD670 3D Wireless Network Blu-ray Disk Player to the average user.
Here's a situation that many of us face. We've gone out and spent several thousand dollars on Samsung HDTV Technology, while also investing in Sony the proper Sony pieces to fill in, only to find that there are some holes in the system.
For example, let's say you purchased a 3D blu-ray player that promised to deliver you Dolby TruHD surround sound, with a clear implication that it would all be wireless, only to find out that two or three HDMI interface cables later, the sound was not as "wireless" as advertised and that the quality of the surround sound depended on the speakers your chosen.
Let's face it, any blu-ray player that is not only network-aware but network-capable right from the box deserves more than a fighting chance for space in your home entertainment center, it deserves reserved space. That the BD670 surely does because it recognizes WiFi standards 802.11 b/g/n, right from the box which means that any device that will interface with your home entertainment system and your home network as these devices can mean you can share the capabilities of the BD670 3D blu-ray player anywhere in your home. Not alone that, since the device is very simple to run - a couple of cables and a menu - you can soon have not only access to such wireless content as Pandora audio, but also video content through Amazon or NetFlix. And, you can even check - with the right apps that are becoming more and more available from LG daily - you can have access to social networking and such.
The most startling thing that we liked, aside from the great 3D movies we were watching on the blu-ray player, was the Dolby TruHD sound. It is amazing and enhances your experience.
The LG also has another feature that surprised us and that was something they termed "upscaling" your DVDs to 1080p so that you gain the full effect of the high-definition quality with very few cables.
So rather than watching over their shoulders for their "natural competitors," Sony, Samsung and others had better be watching for LG, too. As their 3D gets better daily and their wireless interfacing moves them several steps ahead.
