Life is Not a Lottery, It's A Choice
Life is Not a Lottery, It's A Choice
Life is Not a Lottery, It's A Choice
I'm going to ask you the most important question in the universe. A question that supersedes any other question that any language can ever formulate.
"What do you want to get out of life?"
In my own personal search for fulfilment I have found a lot, often through pain or what others may consider "failure". I've been kicked around and I've had to kick around. I've met a diverse group of characters that have broadened my understanding of lifestyles far more dangerous than my own, allowing me to soak in the lessons learned without having to hit the dark bottoms. I've taken wrong paths and steered others toward the correct path. Yes, I have found a lot. What I want to share with you is not my story, nor the story of the people who've taught me so much. It's a carefully crafted article, designed to HELP those of you who need it.
The intention of this article is to empower you to live a remarkable life. If I accomplish anything other than that, then I have failed you.
10 SIMPLE RULES TO LIVE THE REST OF YOUR LIFE BY
10.) Don't identify yourself by your belongings.
Too afraid to let go of something? People buy things because they feel that a certain object will immediately describe who they are to somebody who sees it in their possession. I've got a 100 Item challenge I'm about to post to all of you in the future. Trust me, you'll learn a lot about yourself from it.
9.) Rarely put the financial well-being of others before your own financial well-being.
Outside my own mother, I can never envision myself loaning any person money. Nor should you, unless it somehow will benefit you down the line.
8.) Be okay with being disliked.
You can laugh at every stupid joke some guys says to make him like you, or you can not so he keeps trying to make you like him.
7.) Always have a backup plan.
All my eggs can't FIT into one basket, even if I wanted to. No matter what road you find yourself on, it was always plan A.
6.) Keep a daily schedule.
Want to be productive? Keep an hourly schedule of stuff you want to accomplish that day. Don't forget to give yourself days to chill out and do nothing. I can show you some spots on my calendar that tell me to do whatever the hell I feel like doing. But stay organized.
5.) Do something that will outlive you.
Do 1 thing. 1 simple thing that will be a part of this Earth long after you die. Is it writing a book? Getting a law passed? Being in a movie? I dare you to find 1 thing you will do.
4.) Make everybody around you better for knowing you.
Encourage others to make positive steps in their lives. Ask yourself this:
a.) When's the last time I led somebody to make a significant change in their life?
b.) Do I know what negative thoughts my friends think and can I turn them into positive thoughts?
c.) If I was drafted into the military and told I was going to war, how many of my friends would stand side by side with me?
3.) Never compare you or your accomplishments to that of others.
Wanna know how to start a "Not To-Do" list? Think of all the reasons that somebody else can do something and I can't. Comparing yourself to another person does not benefit you. No matter how much motivation you feel you can get from this, it's just a cover with a ticking time bomb taped around it. Only worry about you.
2.) Be "Best You" not "Perfect You"
Nobodies best day of their life was perfect and no perfect day is the best day of somebody's life. Fill your potential to the brim. If the best of the human race was fixated on being perfect they would no longer be categorized as I just had them categorized.
1.) Research
There's no such thing as a self-taught expert at anything. No matter what you are dealing with, somebody before you has dealt with it and written down the solution to your problem somewhere. I promise you.

People are going to tell you that you're crazy. They are going to tell you that you will fail. They are going to tell you that it will never be done.
Have you ever heard the story of the monkeys in the science experiment?
A heavily funded college once conducted a science experiment involving monkeys that were assigned to a cage that they would collectively live in. 5 monkeys were tossed into a cage by scientists who left them with slop for food on the floor of the cage and delicious bananas, which were suspended from the top of the cage, just out of reach of the monkeys.
After eating their first disgusting meal from the floor, a monkey noticed the bananas swaying back and forth from the top of the cage and began to climb the sides to reach it. As the experiment began, scientists hosed all of the monkeys down with water, punishing the group for the actions of the one monkey.
The following day, another monkey attempted the same feat, again bringing a hose down upon his fellow monkeys, leaving all of them wet and banana-less.
After catching onto the pattern, the monkeys became furious with any monkey who attempted to grab a banana. If one would climb the cage the group would pull him down angrily. If another attempted it the group would repeat their actions.
A week into the project the scientists changed the rules, allowing the monkeys to take a banana if they so wished, and also decided to switch out one of the monkeys for a new monkey. The monkey immediately caught sight of the golden banana and attempted to climb the cage, only to by jerked down aggressively by the fellow monkeys. He attempted this again during his next meal, only to receive the same results.
This happened time over time as the scientists started replacing all of the monkeys in the cage until the last monkey was finally replaced. As the new monkey entered the cage, no monkeys from the original experiment remained.
The new monkey charged the banana and was thrown from the side of the cage, landing on the slop. He jumped up and asked the other monkeys, "why can't I take a banana?". The monkeys looked at him in anger and said, "I don't know why, but you can't."

People are going to tell you that you're crazy, but only because it's crazy to think that anybody wants to live as incredible a life as you do.
They are going to tell you that you will fail, but only because they've failed themselves.
They are going to tell you that it will never be done, but only because they themselves were told it'll never be done.
People take other people by their word too frequently. If man had taken other men by their word instead of challenging it, we'd all think the world was flat and lightning was God being angry at us.
Anybody can be successful. I'm sure you have one celebrity or sports star or famous person that is from your hometown. Maybe one actor or actress that "your cousin's neighbour watches their kids" for. Everybody has that one that we brag to our friends about for indirectly or even directly knowing. For the longest time, it was a fun bit for my friend to tell girls about how he did security for Bruce Willis. He thought it was cool, and it was.
Let's think the exact opposite of that now. Every celebrity, be it Brad Pitt, Taylor Swift, Jamie Foxx, etc. They all are linked to "average" people. You know that somewhere on this planet, Jamie Foxx's mom is bragging to somebody about being Jamie Foxx's mom. Somewhere on this planet, Taylor Swift's cousin is telling people that he is Taylor Swift's cousin. It's definitely used for association. "If X is cool and Y is friends with X, then Y must also be cool". We use it to impress, no doubt.
But ultimately, I'm breaking it down as such to show you that every celebrity has humble associates, just as you do. Picture your mother bragging in a coffee shop that you are her son or daughter. Picture your cousin telling their little friends at school they they're directly related to you, and their friends ask your cousin to get you to autograph pictures and come to the school. Can you see it? Successful people were all given the same chance at everything that you were. And they TOOK that chance and RAN with it.
A woman goes into an open audition that, by the end of the night, has received 125 auditions. Thus she has a 1 in 125 shot at winning the part, the same as every other person who walked in there. This does not, however, leave it to chance. THIS IS THE PART THAT THE SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE RAN WITH IT. You have to factor in the quality of her skill, prior relations with the judges, and desire to fit the role.
They ran with it because they worked toward their skill. Actors and actresses were not born as actors and actresses. It took the distribution of knowledge onto them as well as the practice of what they do, in this case, acting. Look up acting theories and you'll quickly realize how intricate it can become. Perhaps they have past relations with the judges. Is the director fond of her past work and therefore more lenient towards her from the start?
One rule of thumb that you should always keep to remind you just how obtainable your dreams are is the fact that most people do not want to TAKE what they want and RUN with it. They don't. People wait for things to happen, whether with life of women.
If you could be ANYTHING IN THE WORLD with absolutely NO CHANCE at failing it, what would you be? An actor? A musician? A politician? A Doctor? Whatever it is, I want you to write it down and decide that this is what you will dedicate yourself to becoming. TAKE what you want and RUN with it. It's that and THAT ALONE that will eliminate the odds of chance from a 1 in 125 shot. Life isn't a lottery, it's a choice.
