Customers,markets,economic trends, the way we do business and the whole concept of jobs and how we make a living is changing. Many of the methods that worked in the past are no longer effective. There is no longer such thing as job security. Proof is everywhere that technology make jobs disappear.It is unwise to put one's trust on the corporate world for financial security. Do you realize that in less than 50 years we moved from the era of jobs and employment to the era of the self employed and the entrepreneur? You should never stop asking yourself: How vulnerable am I? What is my next job or career going to be? What knowledge and skills much I acquire? Which economic trends must I watch? THE TREND IS YOUR FRIEND. If you want to make money, you have to know who is spending the money and where the money is being spent. It's important to know:a.which industries are growing and expanding; b.what products and services are popular in those industries; c.which organisations(this is critical) are meeting those needs the best.There are three important long-term growth industries which are worth our attention, because they are growing in response to looming problems and not simply through the delivery of new solutions using technological innovation. The three industries,in the beginning stages, that deserve the attention of anyone striving to build a long-term profitable business are:1.HEALTH AND WELLNESS.2.DISTRIBUTION.3.PERSONAL GROWTH.1.From a health point of view, our modern lifestyle influence our health. Degenerative diseases like cancer, stroke,diabetes and osteoporosis are increasing at an alarming rate. The Baby boomers (people who are born between 1946 and 1964) are becoming more and more health conscious and they like to live longer and healthier. "The Wellness industry is an industry which comprise products and services you purchase when you're not technically sick. I have identified 200 billion dollars in this industry from fitness clubs, nutritional supplements,vitamins and minerals that people voluntarily consume in order to feel better". "When I look forward to the year 2010, I see a clear one trillion dollar business just in the growth of the existing products and services that are currently in the laboratory and coming down the pike." -Paul Zane Pilzer, entrepreneur,world-renowned economist,best-selling author and trend forecaster-. 2.From a Distribution point of view, there is a major shift towards direct marketing: e.g.DELL sells computers direct to the public; airlines allow you to purchase 'electronic tickets' through the internet,thereby bypassing the travel agent; banks allow you to manage your funds through the internet,thereby reducing the need for staff. These are just a few examples showing that people are being bypassed in certain sectors of the industry. However a squeeze in one sector generally implies a growth in another sector: Home-based businesses are hot! 3.From a Personal Growth point of view, notice that we are preparing for our next big jump in human consciousness. An increasing number of people are realizing that to win at life's game,one need to learn 'the rules of the game',the fundamental principles for success. People are desperately looking for answers to life's challenges. This explains the growth in the Life Coaching and Personal Development industry. Wouln't it be great to catch the wave of consumer demand in all three of these growing industries at the same time with a single business plan?
