It most unquestionably sounds like a dieting dream come true but in this day and

age it's an essential part of losing weight and maintaining a fit body. Now you would think that increasing the number of meals would decrease snacking but actually this is not the way it works. When it comes to the foods that we eat in general, for the most part they are filled with excess calories and lots of salt, sugar, and fat. These foods tend to not just be detrimental to our health but these empty calories do very little to fill us up. They actually work against what we are trying to accomplish nutritionally. One thing is for certain, more and more individuals are catching on to the fact that meals are doing very little to help them and that watching their calories and using them on the things they crave serve as a much better way of balancing out ones diet.

Many think that this sounds foolish and many medical professionals would disagree. However, when you look at the fact that a bag of chips is in many cases the nutritional equivalent of an entire days worth of calories or at the very least an entire meal, then it's best to make it such to help avoid the problems associated with eating these larger snacks between already over sized meals.

And while the foods can be largely attributed to the problem that most Americans are facing today it's also important to realize that we have all become quite complacent about preparing our own foods and such at home as well as and this is another way in which the quality of the foods we eat can be positively impacted. In addition we are generally taught to sit and clear our plate and eat all our food. This type of food training is likely another contributing factor to widespread obesity in America.
