Also knows as the little gem of a museum by visitors, the Turquoise Museum contains the worlds largest collection of turquoise, collected from 60 mines around the world. With its wide array of turquoise, the museum has been useful for imagery and as a source of knowledge for many over the last 40 years. Visitors get to learn about the different turquoise mines here, along with see specimens and read stories of the previous stones to understand their mystery. You will start your exploration from a tunnel where turquoise is embedded in the walls, and proceed to exhibits that present turquoises geology, history, and mythology. You will also see maps showing where turquoise is mined, from different countries and find out how to determine whether the turquoise you buy is quality or not. There is also a real lapidary shop and the jewelry made there is sold in a gift shop that's open until 5pm. The museum is privately owned and is a venue which will keep you entertained!

Albuquerque Vacations Attractions: Open Space Visitor Center

Heading out to the Open Space Visitor Center in western Albuquerque is one of the many exciting things to do when in Albuquerque. The center is a premier facility, offering programs that raise awareness and provide education about the environment. It has a permanent exhibit space and also has an art gallery, 24 acres of agricultural fields, and a breathtaking view of the Sandia Mountains. Furthermore, there are cozy indoor and outdoor viewing areas showing the views of wildlife and Sandhill cranes and other migratory birds during their fall and winter migratory season al year around to onlookers. The harvest festival after the summers is also entertaining. Several varieties of traditional gardens is a splendid outdoor exhibit where one can see arroyo gardens, pebble gardens, olla gardens and the waffle garden, each constructed to harvest as much water as possible. Enjoying Baseball with the Albuquerque Isotopes on Your Albuquerque Vacation

The Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers is the Albuquerque Isotopes which are a minor league baseball team playing in Pacific Coast League. The team began play in 2003, after the Calgary Cannons relocated to New Mexico. The name of the team came from the long-running TV series The Simpsons. In different seasons of the year, tickets to watch this team play are available and the baseball game is thoroughly enjoyed by baseball die-hard fans. Games are played by the Isotopes at the stadium in Albuquerque accompanied by other activities. The Isotopes have excellent players and each has a performance not matching the other. By virtue of a pair of dominating performances, Albuquerque Isotopes Seth Etherton and John Lindsey were recently named Pacific Coast League Pitcher and Player of the Week, for games that began on May 24 through May 30.
