Of course perhaps the very greatest use of the SMS gateway is in the unlikely area of sports. Most major sporting events, from football to rugby, offer fans the chance to subscribe for periodic updates on the score. Some news sources even provide short snippets of commentary - all typed into an online form and delivered via an SMS gateway.
