Each user can only log-in to the Linux terminal through a specific username either assigned or created. This is because different users are connected to the same server through different terminals thus without an assigned user name logging in wont be possible. During the Installation, a root user' or super user' account is created which has unlimited access to all the system files and resources. Usually it is best to only access it to perform certain administrative tasks such as program installation.

Once logged in through root user for the first time another user can be created through adduser(space)name' command.

The user can also be placed in a group by creating a new group through addgroup(space)name' command.

New folders can be created through the mkdir command. Files and directories can also be moved or renamed trough the mv' command. In order to search files slocate' command can be used. In order to remove files and folders rm' and rmdir' commands are used respectively. ls' is another important feature to list information about files.

Apart from files management simple options such as shutdown can be assessed through the command shutdown', restarting linux can be done through restart' command, sleep' command is used for specified delay in time, date' command is used for altering date and time , dc' command is used for assessing desk calculator and cal' command is used to display the calendar.

Now in order to access the server folder you need to use the command cd(space).. and then to return to your own terminal base root folder you can use cd(space)(user name)' command is used. Server operators when serving multiple operators can change access permissions through the chmod' command. Disk management commands include df' command to display free disk space, du' for estimated file space usage, qouta' command to display disk usage or limits, reboot' is used to reboot the system and ddrescue' for data recovery tool . Server operators would also require sometimes abort a certain operations taking place through kill' command which stops a certain process from running and killall' which kills processes by names. At any given time the list of all the users currently logged in can be seen by using users' command. ulimit' command can be used to limit user resources.
