The young adult/teen age group doesn't typically place "financial" at the top of their list of priorities when they are deciding upon what they like and what they don't like. This financially minded addition to the typical "priority list" often comes to a person later in life. So the study commissioned by The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and conducted by Synovate, an independent research firm, indicates strongly that costs are not a top priority in determining approval or non-approval for cosmetic procedures like liposuction.

Not that liposuction costs aren't being considered. They have to be considered. Individuals can't have liposuction unless they pay for it. But not only are other aspects of the decision being given higher priority, but more clinics are offering financing that makes it more available to more people. If an individual can't pay up front for their procedure they can most likely make payments.

Cosmetic procedures on the whole are far more mainstream than ever before. They are obviously beneficial for their aesthetic advantages, but more than that...they are just a more accepted part of today's society.

Having cosmetic work done used to be seen as taboo. Many would refuse to admit they had any cosmetic procedures done. They would deny it if asked. In today's social atmosphere it is more likely that they would want to discuss it thoroughly. They want to talk about the procedure, their doctor, their recovery time...all of it.

People of all ages discuss cosmetic procedures they would "like" to have done. They use it as a general topic of conversation. They chat about it in public. They make plans and lists of their favorite procedures they'll have done someday. The "taboo" is over.

This new acceptance of all things cosmetic is to the advantage of individuals looking to have work done. While it most likely isn't based on the liposuction costs...the new acceptance makes it easier for individuals not well versed in the cosmetic industry to make knowledgeable decisions regarding cosmetic procedures. They are able to take advantage of freely offered advice and honest discussions on the topic. This attitude increases the possibility for long term satisfaction after cosmetic procedures.
