Manchester is a city and metropolitan borough of Greater Manchester in England

. The County of Greater Manchester is one of the UK's largest metropolitan areas, with an estimated population of 2, 600, 100. Situated in the south-central part of North-West England, Manchester is bordered by the Cheshire Plain in the south and the Pennines to the North and East.

Manchester is the centre of arts, media, education and commerce in the North of England. It has regularly been voted as the best place in the UK to locate a business, and pre-credit crunch reports identified it as the fastest growing city (economically) in the UK. Manchester hosted the 2002 Commonwealth Games and hosts two top class football teams - Manchester United and Manchester City.

It's a huge, cosmopolitan city in the centre of the UK, with excellent transport links to most major UK cities and Europe. It has become the business hub of the north, where manufacturing and professional services industries thrive. Fallowfield - M14

M14 postcodes are in the south east of the city of Manchester, in Fallowfield, and occupy the territory close to the University of Manchester. Fallowfield has a population of around fifteen thousand and is roughly three miles south of Manchester city centre. It is a highly sought-after location due to its proximity to both the university and city centre.

The area has a large student population, as the University's main accommodation complex is located here. Fallowfield has an excellent bus service along Wilmslow Road as well as other services connecting it with Chorlton-cum-Hardy and Levenshulme.There is also a railway station on Mauldeth Road which is part of the Styal Line. Fallowfiel railway station on Wilmslow Road is no more, with the remains being converted into a public house and a Sainsbury's supermarket.

Radcliffe - M26

The town of Radcliffe is just a few miles north-northwest of Manchester. Historically a part of Lancashire, there has been evidence of Mesolithic, Roman and Norman activity in Radcliffe, with a Roman road passing through the area. It is included in the Domesday Book (albeit as 'Radeclive').

It's a predominantly residential area, with a population of around thirty five thousand. Its history of industry can be seen in the few remaining cotton mills which are now occupied by local businesses. The town's industrial diversity has ensured that the decline of heavy industries hasn't destroyed it.
