In every economy the economic activities of the people are concerned with production
, distribution, exchange, consumption and usage of goods and services. Another important factor is that whatever is produced must be properly tested in order to see that whether the product is being able to serve the purpose for which it has been produced. This is done by LOAD TESTING.
Load testing can be described as the process of putting load or demand on a system or device and measuring the result. Load testing helps us to know if the device or the system is able to take the load or is of no use. This helps the resources from getting wasted. Load testing is generally of two types. They are:
1] Mechanical load testing
2] Software load testing
Mechanical load testing:
These tests are done on metallic materials, base fixings. The use of mechanical load test is to see whether the component parts of a structure are being able to take the load and serve the purpose for which it is made. Load test is generally done before a machine or equipment is used for the first time.
For performance testing a safe work load is stated and the equipment is used up to this level to see how it performs according to the producers specifications. In static testing the load more than the safe work load is applied but not up to the fullest level. In dynamic testing the load is not only more than the safe work load but it is applied to the fullest level to check its performance.
Software load testing:
It is the process of testing the usage of a software program when multiple users access it at the same time. This testing is most appropriate for multi-user systems such as web servers. However it can also be used for testing other software systems as well. Correct load testing depends on actual results rather than theoretical.
Oracle is a database. Oracle spends its maximum time in performance tuning. Performance tuning is another important thing which helps in increasing performance of the database. It enables to check whether the valuable human time is wasted due to low speed. It also helps in optimizing hardware usage to save money.
Thus, we can say that load testing, oracle testing and performance testing are of great use and almost indispensable when it comes to develop robust and reliable software applications.
