Loft conversions have accounted for a significant proportion of building services provided in Hampshire during 2009 and the trend is set to continue with massive pressure for development in such areas.

Annexes and loft conversions together look likely to be the short-term answer to the currently high demand for housing across the south-east of England as fewer acres are being designated for new-build houses than in the recent past.

Loft conversions have also proved popular for people living with grown up children or an elderly relative, who want to expand their living space.

The southern Hampshire district of the New Forest, designated a national park in 2005, sees particularly intense demand for development in the towns which border it.

Landlords and homeowners alike have become ever more innovative in order to keep creating new estates in the land, using only the property that currently exists.
