The London Olympics 2012 is about 2 weeks to come but even this does not stop the

diehard fans from discussions and speculations of the competitions and winners of different events. London has been chosen among 4 fantastic cities of the world to host the Olympics this year. The city had previously hosted the games in 1908 and 1948 also and it is a record third time that a city would be hosting the Olympic Games.

The London 2012 Olympics will commence on July 27 with an opening ceremony which will be called The Isles of Wonder. The Queen of England Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburg will officially open the games. Danny Boyle, the Oscar winning director will be the Artistic Director for the opening ceremony. Daniel Bond Craig would also be probably performing in the ceremony. The motto of the London Olympics Games 2012 is Inspire a Generation.

About 204 countries are expected to be performing in the London Olympics 2012 this year and the Olympics Games 2012 calendar longs for 17 sports days. About 10500 athletes will be performing in 302 events in 26 sports. The London 2012 games will be held around parts of London and other parts of the UK. The most important and crowded place would be the Olympic Stadium. Dorset and Portland are the other main spots for the sports events in the games.

There will be gross 302 events in the London Olympics Sports. For the first time in the Olympic Games history, the event of Women Boxing will be included in the games. Approximately 5000 medals, each weighing 400g each are designed by David Watkins, Royal Mint. It has designs of Nike the Greek goddess, the Olympic Games logo and the Thames River.

The London Olympics Schedule will end on August 12 and a closing ceremony will accompany the grand closing of the Olympic Games. The London Olympics 2012 results will be out by then.
