This is just terrible
This is just terrible. As we're speaking, there are many, many diseased, famished, isolated, cheerless, and terrified girls and boys sleeping on those harsh streets. These underprivileged children are on our streets, completely unsheltered, dirty, self-debasing, and 100 percent desponding. They're quite possibly even suicidal.
Several of these outcasts eat out of the trash, and even more of them are dependent on narcotics like crank, heroin, and crack cocaine.
I would like you to come to see that it is not the focus of this article to induce feelings of guilt a la many of those late night tv charity pitches (not implying that their causes don't happen to be legitimate), but is actually to help you understand what's really transpiring out in the trenches, as well as to prompt you to act by sharing information about charitable organizations which may have eluded you.
Knowledge most definitely is great, and I'm only attempting to provide you with a small amount of insight which can enable us to do something in the name of our abandoned local boys and girls. It could be that your precious son or daughter is infected with AIDS from sharing a dirty needle. Or worse, it could be that your child is being traded for drugs or money. Take a deep look into your beautiful baby's eyes. Do you see the agony, despair, aloneness, and hopelessness? What about the sheer terror? Does your kid have a positive outlook on the future? Is there even a future to be had?
Any time I do this exercise myself, it makes me want to cry my heart out. It truly does. And I'm sure you can relate when I promise you that I'd do literally everything in my power to rescue my little one from that nightmare instantly! Not in a million years would I allow that to go on.
But for the children on our merciless streets, this is seldom an option, as they have no loving family to depend upon. And in all reality, they don't have anyone whatsoever. Their folks are very possibly deceased... or in jail... or mentally incapacitated due to drug addiction. What's worse, a few of these young people were actually forced into this predicament by their mothers or fathers, who prostituted them out for drugs. Please understand, this is NOT all too uncommon. Most of these kids are good kids who just never really stood a chance.
Okay, I get it! But how can we actually help these poor kids?
That happens to be the greatest question you could have asked. In all reality, the answer is absolutely elementary. Would you like to know what it is? Contribute your unwanted vehicle to your local car donation program as soon as possible. With the proceeds of your contribution, the charitable organization will be able to make a profound difference in the lives of these kids.
