Long Island Toyota Corolla Dealerships Feature Unheard-of Prices
Over the past several months, the American driving public has lost a huge amount of brand loyalty for Toyota
. The struggling Japanese manufacturer that brought us the Prius, one of the most innovative and fuel efficient vehicles on the market, suffered from serious production problems that culminated in several injuries and deaths as a result of faulty brake pedals. Then, there were the recalls. While they werent limited to the Prius, the model that has been most prominent in the news has been the industrys leading fuel efficient compact. But there were also problems with Corolla models, a development to which Long Island used Corolla dealers have attributed falling sales.
So yes, following the slew of recent recalls, it isnt all that surprising that Toyota sales have taken a massive hit over the past few months. But the brand that has made the Long Island Toyota Corolla such a reliable purchase had a few tricks up its sleeve to regain some consumer confidence, the most prominent of which was a huge increase in incentives. In fact, at the beginning of March, Toyota announced that it was offering zero percent financing, subsidized leases and free maintenance for two years. Pretty insane incentives, but desperate times call for desperate measures, and I dont hear any Toyota customers complaining. Long Island used Corolla dealers have in fact heard much of the exact opposite.
By mid-March, industry experts were already predicting that the brands sales were up as much as a whopping 50 percent, which would more than wipe out the manufacturers dismal first two months of 2010. That would be huge news for Long Island Toyota Corolla dealers, who were very disillusioned by those two months of poor sales. But, many of these same experts expected sales to level out to a nice even 30 percent increase. Regardless of whether that happens, it would seem that the recently wayward manufacturer is finally back on track for a successful year and, potentially, a successful decade. Long Island used Corolla dealers are breathing a sigh of relief at the apparent return to success.
Unfortunately, we dont expect that purely incentives will keep customers coming back forever and neither do we expect that Toyota could continue the incentives for very long. Still, Long Island Toyota Corolla dealerships are heartened by the recent increases in sales. But the real question is whether or not Toyota deserves to have sales jump back to normal. Some (like myself) would argue that the mere fact of the Japanese brands role in changing the automotive landscape over the past few years should give them something of a trump card. But the fact still remains: injuries and death as a result of manufacturing errors are never justified. On top of that, the U.S. government has to continue its heavy handedness with the automotive industry after it became embroiled in the Big Three. Not simply to keep up appearances but to continue to be the watchdog of an automotive industry that has spun out of control in the past.
