Look Beyond Spain for This Year's Holiday

Let's face it: Spain is an incredible country, filled with a vast and extraordinary history, and a people that are both passionate and personable - but you've been there, done that - how many times now? In fact, many travellers are even partaking in a trend that is much closer to home. Holidaying at home has become enormously popular over the years and is a trend that started in earnest when the recession hit. As people were faced with having to tighten their purse strings in a big way, many gave up on the idea of their annual summer getaway - but many simply turned their sights to closer realms and chose to stay in the UK and make the most of the country's diverse and fascinating offerings. Great Britain may be a small country, but the culture, architecture, countryside, entertainment and attractions that it covers is a force to be reckoned with. Even heading to the next nearest city, county or region can be enough to provide the most adventurous holidaymaker with a whole new world to contend with.

Wherever you do decide to visit this summer - be it one of Spain's neighbours, further afield places such as Asia, Africa or North or South America - you won't regret stepping out of your comfort zone and trying something new.
