Whenever we are planning a holiday or a short trip away

, most of us immediately begin looking into hotels. We look deep into the different options that we have, researching all of the different hotels and their facilities to the price of a night's stay and the food reviews that they have received from previous guests. However, a lot of us fail to realise, when complaining about the money that we will be spending in our hotels, that there are other options to consider too that do not cost nearly as much and are also incredibly fun to do whilst on holiday!

Camping is becoming more and more popular throughout the country, specifically in the height of summer as you can imagine! Camp sites charge very small amounts for people to pitch tents and stay on their premises, from as little as 30 per week. That is less than you can get some hotels for - and that's for just one night! Camping offers many advantages over staying in hotels, particularly for those with a slightly more adventurous or thrill-seeking spirit than most! You are not limited at all with the things that you can do and simply make your own fun and entertainment!

Whilst the monetary difference between staying in hotels and camping is one of the key benefits in favour of the latter, there are also many other advantages to camping. Another key advantage is that of occupancy. A lot of hotels nowadays like to charge on a "per person" rate. This can soon rack up quite a room bill if there are 3 or 4 members to your family or even more! Depending upon the size of tent that you buy, you can get a lot of people in there and a camp site will only ever charge "per tent" and not per person.

The activities that you can find whilst camping are great as most camp sites are generally situated in the woods near lakes and streams etc. Therefore, there is a lot for the kids to explore within a 1 mile radius so no more expense spared on travel to and from hotels and amenities whilst on holiday. You can find a long list of activities for campers on the internet to give you some idea of how to spend your week/weekend there. Although, the camp site manager will most likely be able to tell you all about what is locally available to you too.
