However, a lot of people would say that you have to have a certain style home or a certain income level to pull off this floral wallpaper made in a designer fashion. We all know that the history of the damask pattern goes way back to farther than the 18th century and was used in their, the Italian, Spanish, French and English homes to portray to others that they belonged to the upper class. The style was made, some believe, to idealize the pleasures of life such as the pretty flowers in nature and bring them inside to show the world that this family has the wherewithal to pull off this dcor because they are part of the upper class.

Women typically in all time periods were responsible for cleaning and sprucing up the house and took great pride in adding little touches to the home to beautify it; such as little vases of flowers on the rough-hewn dining table. Well we haven't changed at all and we are still constantly looking for ways to spruce up our home.

So when making a decision for that oh so treasured purchase, your home, don't let anyone tell you that you cannot do damask wallpaper. The newer types of damask styles are tailored to fit our more modern lifestyles and can be used almost anywhere now. Wallpaper has been totally reinvented and is no longer only for the rich. You can chose from their floral wallpaper or go for a more gilded-style of damask, which you will find in a wide range of patterns and colours.

It might behoove you to first look at one piece of irreplaceable furniture in your house and match your wall covering to blend with that so your home improvement won't have to cost you so much in terms of replacing all your furniture and rugs. Then just add some snazzy throw pillows and there you go, a sprucing up that you can be proud of and show off to all your friends. There's also plenty of how-to classes out there that can help you learn the proper way to measure, cut, paste and hang wallpaper.

So whether you choose to do a total redo of your rooms or just add new wallpaper. Wallpaper is the beginning though and will tie everything else in your room together. Always remember to measure carefully when cutting and make hanging it a family project or get help from a friend. Think of all the fun stories that can come of hanging wallpaper as a family so you not only gain a new makeover for your room but a new memory that you can take out in the future and relive.
