Looking Good On Your Wedding Day
Well I suppose it is a reasonable assumption that you would like to look your very best on your wedding day
. After all you could have been planning the day for the past couple of years and heaven knows the number of years you have been fantasizing about walking down the aisle to meet your Prince Charming.
A word at this point for the boys If you havent figured it out already, boys are different from girls, yes they are. You did not run around as a kid with a towel wrapped around your head pretending to be a bride and you dont buy shoes because they look good and have no regard that they are impossible to walk on and are killing your feet, and lads dont believe her if she protests otherwise. Those shoes are killing her and she still thinks that they where worth every penny because they match the dress. It does not matter that she is going to spend the same again on trips to the foot doctor - she also wishes that she had bought the blue pair as well.
Our 21st century bride has progressed a little. Previous generations would have protested wildly that it was love and love only that was the only motivation for signing on the dotted line and committing to a life of belching, farting and underpants strewn around the bedroom. Our modern bride knows in her heart of hearts that boys will be boys (lets face it, you only have previous generations of women to blame for the corruption of men or the sustained behavior patterns). She now is more likely to come clean and admit that he is going to have to cough the rock and have the prospect of lots more trinkets to make it an attractive proposition. You know lads; we have to be thankful that women have the shoe lobe of their brains because it has to be this madness that lets us get away with being boys.
Now, to the business of looking good on your wedding day. We cannot however depart from the SLB (Shoe Lobe Brain) For some unknown reason the female of the species cannot see herself and sometimes insists on wearing the most ridiculous unflattering garments which simply do not suit her. This is, of course, a generalization but the condition does afflict many. It would also appear that the ailment is not only suffered on the wedding day but any time she has to look her best. She can be relied upon to expose more and more flesh, which would be best, covered up.
One of the interesting symptoms of this state of mind is the sufferer can identify the condition in others but cannot see it in herself. She is going to be ridiculed by others and would ridicule those who she sees wearing such an unflattering outfit, but it makes no difference.
She is a slave to fashion and appears not to be able to see the reflection in the mirror, which cries out No No No.
The SLB sufferer must never ever be allowed to go shopping alone, the poor best friend should be enlisted to lend support and make all the right/wrong noises. Being cruel to be kind is the only course of action and those who suspect that they may have a touch of this debilitating condition should only go shopping with someone who tells it like it is - or me!!
So here it is, straight to the shoulder Wear What Suits You and you will look great.
