Looking To The Future With Medical Transcription

For 26 years now I have been a stay-at-home mom

. I have been blessed with five children, the youngest having been born with Down Syndrome. In 1981, I graduated from a Community College with an Associate Degree in Medical Assisting. Medical Transcription was a part of the curriculum and I found that I enjoyed transcription very much. I found it very interesting and I was good at it. Now that my children are getting older, I find myself at a point in my life that I would like to be able to make my own money. I would like to be able to support myself and my special needs son. I believe that Medical Transcription may be the way to accomplish that goal. The advantages of a medical transcription career for me personally will be the ability to work and be home with my son. Whenever he is home I have to be home with him, so I need a career that can allow for that.

Medical transcription jobs at home can be the answer to that dilemma. Since the internet now allows for people who want or need to work from home and employers who want to hire them to connect I realize there are job positions out there for me. The restrictions placed on me by the blessing of the birth of my son have now been lifted. I am interested in training with Future MT most of all because of the possibility of a full scholarship. I am unable to afford to pay for training on my own at this time. Financially I cannot pay the training costs in full nor can I honestly commit to a monthly payment plan. I am at the mercy of my spouse for finances and being self-employed himself there is no guarantee that the money will be there to make course payments. Future MT having that seal of approval tells me that the association has gone over the training and curriculum and feels that the training is comprehensive enough to allow me to be successful. The seal tells me that with Future MT training the prospects for job placement will be good. I like the job placement assistance offered by Future MT. Since I have no documented outside of the home work history, job placement assistance will be vital in my procuring a position as a medical transcriptionist after graduation. Finding a position in the transcriptionist field might be impossible without the job placement assistance for someone like me who is just getting started in the work force. My career goals are to receive quality, comprehensive medical transcription training. I want the training to be of such high caliber that job placement will be successful. I hope to procure employment with a company that will provide me with long-term employment. I hope to sit for the certification test as soon as I qualify to do so. Someday I hope to give back to the medical transcription community either by contributing financially to a scholarship program or by becoming a mentor to future medical transcription students. Perhaps it will work out that I will be able to achieve all of my goals.
