Looking for a Unique Winter Getaway - Flagstaff Hotels Await You!

Winter is a great time to get away and do something different and Northern Arizona is a particularly fun destination. The city of Flagstaff hotels, shops, restaurants, museums and more is a lovely little town to explore during the cooler winter months. And winter brings with it some fun Flagstaff events including the Northern Lights Holiday Parade. This year, the parade's theme is "Snowy Nights & Winter Lights."

Don't be fooled into thinking the weather will be warm in Flagstaff. The city is at an elevation of roughly 7000 feet which means winter temperatures can be much colder than you would expect from the desert Southwest. Many a traveler has been caught without warm winter clothing visiting Flagstaff hotels in the winter. Make sure you're not one of them! Bring a coat, gloves, boots and a scarf to ensure you can withstand the cold weather.

Purchase travel gear at Sage Brush Trading Company, bath accouterments at P.J. Chilcottage and posters at the Black Hound Gallerie just to name a few.

Plan to warm up over lunch and/or dinner at one of the many cafes and restaurants along your route. Enjoy sweet or savory crepes at the Old Town Creperie, a pulled pork sandwich at Bigfoot BBQ or a lovely glass of wine at Vino Loco. Once you've warmed up and filled up, it's time to grab your mittens and scarf and take in the Northern Lights Holiday Parade in the evening. When the parade wraps up, head back to the Flagstaff hotels area and get a great night's rest because there's a lot more to see and do in Flagstaff tomorrow!
