Lord Give Me Revelation

Revelation is something available to all Christian believers

. This is not something that only occurred two thousand plus years ago. It happens all the time today, God providing revelation knowledge in the hearts and minds of his followers. An illustration of this revelation knowledge is when you are reading the Bible and a verse leaps off the page, hits you in your heart, and God says, This is written for you today.

These are significant experiences for that believer. However, for several, they just don't happen often enough. There are seven things I do which permit me the opportunity of receiving revelation knowledge each and every time I read the Bible. Truth and insights leap off the page as well as an understanding of how they are to change my life infuses my spirit and soul. I enjoy this experience and desire it every time I read the Scriptures. For this reason I prepare myself by doing the subsequent seven things. Prayerfully think on these steps and establish those that you need to do and those you do not.

Biblical Meditation

One of the key differences between those who study the Word and receive revelation knowledge and those who do not is whether they use a left-brained approach or a whole-brained approach. The left-brained approach focuses on studying, using rational reasoning, and focus on our human abilities and understanding. A whole-brained approach, on the other hand, focuses on using the mind and the heart and allowing God to bestow upon us His understanding.

These are practices I have put in place when meditating on the Word which have resulted in illumination, revelation knowledge, anointed reasoning.

Seven Practices for Meditation/Divine Revelation

1. DO NOTHave unconfessed sin. INSTEADBe washed by Jesus blood.

2. DO NOTHave a pre-conceived attitude. INSTEADHave a teachable attitude.

3. DO NOTBe independent: I can... INSTEADPray: Lord, show me.

4. DO NOTRead quickly. INSTEADSlow down, ponder, muse.

5. DO NOTRely on reason & analysis only. . INSTEADCombine anointed reason, flowing pictures, music and speech

6. DO NOTRead without specific purpose. INSTEADRead with focused purpose.

7. DO NOTTake credit for insights. INSTEADGlorify God for insights.

By implementing these practices when studying the Word of God, I have consistently experienced Gods revelation knowledge. This is not something unique to me. This is something you can do as well. God is speaking to us. We just need to quiet our minds and listen.
