Lord Nataraja - Dance King

Hindu is a religion that revolves around the many stories of different deities or what we call god or goddesses

. One of them is Lord Nataraja a representation of Shiva and cosmic dancer that performs for Brahma.

The deity Nataraja recognized as the dancer of the gods and by way of dancing, the representation of Shiva could destroy a universe or create a new one. A statue depicts Nataraja as someone dancing around a flame. The dance posed is more widely known as the dance for Shiva at Tillai, a good way to portray the dance lord.

When you study clearly the significance of a Nataraja sculpture you will realize that shiva dance is not literary the "world" as everything is just a cycle of movements that is shown in the flames.

As told earlier, Nataraja is a cosmic dance, which in Hindu a performance to help men differentiate itself from the physical world. The cosmic dance performed at the Chidambaram, South India. By the way, the dance is actually a representation of Shiva's activities.

The dance is a symbol of the five well-known activities, or dance performance. The drum-symbolized "protection", the hand gesture is "destruction", fire is "embodiment" and then a foot firmly planted on a solid ground means "release". This is what Nataraja picture symbolizes.

The other two forms of dance are the lasya, which is associated as the dance for the creation of a world. Then another one called the Tandava, known by many as a dangerous and violent dance, which is why it is often associated with destruction.

Tandava and lasya are synonymy to one another, as these two facets of Shiva, which is the other form of Nataraja. The deity of dance before he creates a new world would tear down the old one first as that is how he works as believes by Hindus. However, what most people do not realize is the fact that the dance is not just a symbol as there is deeper significance to it.

In truth, the Nataraja is what inside every person heart, the movements are just symbols of what a person could feel or think. The shiva dance is far more than just what the meaning of the symbols implies as the true meanings is more than its literal definition.

Not many people would agree, but if you will study Nataraja, lord of dance and representation of Shiva you will discover that he is actually a science, art and religion all rolled into one dance sculpture.
