Loss Assessors- Independent Claim Specialists
Loss Assessors- Independent Claim Specialists
Basically there are two types of adjusters. One is an in-house adjuster and the other is outhouse adjuster. Both these types work for insurance companies. In-house adjusters work completely for the companies as they are hired and paid by them. Some companies use outhouse adjusters. They are not company employees. Basically these are contractors that represent insurance companies in areas where they may or may not have employees. An in-house employee gets more benefit from the insurance company in terms of promotion salary etc. He works for the company benefits and follows all the company policies.
Public adjusters are an entirely different set of bodies. They do not work for any organization. By this we mean insurance companies. They are independent claim specialists. They are also called as Loss Assessors. They solely and completely work for the insured or the policyholders. In other words we can say that he is an advocate for the claimants in accessing and negotiating their insurance claims. Their primary and chief job is to evaluate their damage, prepare an estimate of the loss and do all the documentation and paperwork. Thus there are basically three classes of claim adjusters.
Loss assessors go through the entire insurance policy of the policyholder and then negotiate with the claimant's insurance company for quick and fair settlement. When a person claims for a loss and hires a loss assessor, this makes the insurance company feel that the policyholder is taking his claim seriously and thus he also appoints a professional called loss adjuster who tries all ways and means so that the insured gets the least amount possible.
A loss assessor should have received a professional permit through your state's license of insurance. Any loss assessor who has not obtained suitable and appropriate licensing is not qualified enough to work for you. The main responsibilities of loss assessors are as follows:
1. Loss Assessors will attend you immediately, prepare your claims and negotiate the best fair settlement on your behalf.
2. They will go through your policy closely, will look for hidden coverage and details.
3. They will make sure that your claim is handled as quickly as possible, costing you the least possible amount of down time so that you can get back up and restore you home or business.
Thus, loss assessors are a great fiscal and emotional supporter.
