Louis C.k. Tickets - Louis C.k.'s Fx Show 'louie' To Return For A Second Season

The FX network has picked up comedian Louis C.K.'s stand-up-meets-sitcom show Louie for a second season

. Paste magazine reports that the comedian confirmed the good news via his Twitter account on Aug. 3, tweeting: "Folks, FX has picked up LOUIE for a second season. 13 more eps. Holy hitlers mothers tits. This is very good news." The hilarious, cringe-inducing FX original series showcasing his observational humor and follows his life in standup and as a single father to two daughters. The comic serves as executive producer, writer and director for the single-camera comedy show (Dave Becky also exec produces), which is one-part standup and one-part scripted short film.

Louie isn't the comedian's first sitcom, as he starred and created in HBO's first (and only) multi-camera sitcom Lucky Louie, which was cancelled after its first 13-episode season back in 2006. The show apparently couldn't compete with HBO's single-camera shows-like Curb Your Enthusiasm and Entourage-but TV Series Finale reports that the show has a devoted fans base despite its limited airtime.

HBO Entertainment Chief Carolyn Strauss released a statement following the announcement of the cancellation, saying, "Louis is an incredible talent and a wonderful performer. We loved trying our first multi-camera show with him, and we look forward to other projects with Louis in the future."

It appears that the comic is having the last laugh, as the Emmy-winning writer-producer has appeared to have found the perfect formula with the revamped version, FX's Louie. Despite his rocky television career, he has enjoyed over 20 years of success on the standup circuit. His first hour-long comedy special Louis C.K.: Shameless premiered on HBO in January 2007 to instant critical acclaim, and he found more success with his second (Louis C.K.: Chewed Up) and third (Louis C.K.: Hilarious) hour comedy specials. In addition to his trio of lauded hour specials, he has starred in two HBO One Night Stand hour-long stand-up specials as well as a Comedy Central Presents Special and HBO's 25th Anniversary Young Comedians.

The comic has also enjoyed success on the silver screen, most notably for his cult classic Blaxpolitation spoof Pootie Tang, which he wrote and directed, as well as his debut feature film Tomorrow Night. The indie film, which he wrote, produced and directed, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 1998. Most recently, the comic appeared in the 2009 Ricky Gervais (you know him from the British version of The Office) movie The Invention of Lying alongside Jennifer Garner and Rob Lowe. Also in 2009 enjoyed a small screen stint on the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation.

Louis will be reuniting with his Parks and Recreation co-star Aziz Ansari at the upcoming 7th New York Comedy Festival. Variety reports that he will be among the comedians performing at the annual event, which runs Nov. 3-7 in New York City. Along with Ansari, this year's NYCF will feature performances by Joel McHale, Rosie O'Donnell, Adam Carolla, Maz Jobrani, Kevin Hart, Brian Regan, Gabriel Iglesias, Margaret Cho, Luis Jimenez, Nick Swardson and more.

Fans of this comic. don't have to travel to the Big Apple to see him live with standup dates lined up through December. Louis C.K. tickets are available to see his standup routine in cities scattered across the States.
