Guided tours of the Louvre Museum are available in English daily. The tour last 90 minutes and shows you some of the most famous pieces of artwork on display at the Louvre. Guided tours in English are available between 3 to 5 times a day depending on seasonal demand.

Louvre tours typically start on American architect Im Pei's glass pyramid which is seated at the middle of the museum. Fees are charged on adults, free among kids aged under 13, and a discount is offered for those 13 to 18 years of age.

Guided tours of the Louvre are limited to 30 people and places are allotted on a first come first serve basis, so it's recommended to turn up to the glass pyramid 30 minutes before the tour commences in order to register your names.

The Louvre museum also has an audio guide available in six languages that takes you through almost the same pieces of art work that you'd see with the human tour guide. Audio guides last 90 minutes and can be hired from a desk near the information desk at the front of the museum.

Louvre welcomes visitors daily from 9 AM to 6 PM with the exception of Tuesdays and particular holidays. Ticket booths close 45 minutes before closing time while guards start going around to clear the buildings 30 minutes before closing. Some parts of the Louvre are open to public until 9.45 in the evening on Mondays.

With a standard ticket, you can see permanent exhibits of the Louvre. You will also be allowed to get in and out of the museum throughout the day, allowing you to go out for fresh air or for lunch. As for temporary exhibits, you would have to pay extra fees to get to see it.
