Lovely Perfume By Sarah Jessica Parker And Celebrity Fragrances
Celebrity perfumes have become a regular event at your local department store
. Here we look at 3 very girly celebrity perfumes, Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker, Feminine by Cindy Crawford and Darling by Kylie Minogue.Sarah Jessica Parker is best known for her role as Carrie Bradshaw in the television series and film Sex and the City. With the help of Patricia Fields, both Sarah and Carrie have become fashion icons. In addition to being a fashion icon, Sarah Jessica Parker is also a very successful business woman as well as actress, mother and wife.
One of her most successful ventures is her development of the Lovely perfume series, in collaboration with Coty Inc. Lovely Perfume was created by Sarah and two of the most successful perfumers Laurent Le Guernec and Clement Gavarry.
Much work was undertaken to create this perfume, Sarah really cared about the development and was quoted as saying, "I've been invited into women's lives and I take that seriously". To show how serious she was about creating a truly amazing fragrance, the development process of this single perfume took an enormous five years. Lovely was released into the market place in 2005. Sarah's main aim was to create a timeless and ageless fragrance that can be worn by all ages.
The perfume itself is made up of layering scents, a mixture of top notes which contains Lavender, apple martini and bergamot, the middle and bottom notes also contain creamy orchid and Cedar wood amongst other oils. The overall fragrance is not overpowering, it is a light sweet smelling fragrance that stays close to the skin. It can be described as a sophisticated and timeless fragrance.
The packaging of the bottle is just beautiful, light pink, small curved shaped bottle with a sleek gold writing to compliment the pink shades, extremely girly and feminine.
It is natural to compare Lovely to other "Celebrity Perfumes" available and there is a huge selection of A-list stars creating their own unique scents. Cindy Crawford's Feminine perfume is more suited to ladies whom prefer a more floral scent but with the clear crisp and alluring trail of apple. Top notes are apple, water lily, bergamot and pepper with middle notes of gardenia, freesia and jasmine. The base notes are amber, sandalwood, patchouli, benzoin and mahogany. While not as strong or immediately recognisable as, for example, Be Delicious by Donna Karen New York it is worn and preferred by a wide cross section of women and not just bought by husbands drawn to Cindy's name. Again a simple elegant bottle, perhaps not as girly as Lovely but striking on any girl's dressing table irrespective of age.
Another similar perfume, Darling by Kylie Minogue, has the same sandalwood and amber base notes but joined by a strong scent of vanilla. Although this floral perfume has a very nice and pleasant effect on the senses it is not different enough or doesn't have that strike out scent that more popular and recognisable fragrances have. The bottle again is very girly and would dress-up any perfume collection delicately displayed on the dressing table, with Kylie's name also adds a certain appeal ( which isn't always the case with celebrity perfumes!). The fragrance itself is made up with top notes of passion fruit, freesia and litchi, the middle notes of lily boronia and Base notes, as mentioned, are sandalwood amber vanilla.
So if you are looking for a new or older perfume for yourself or a loved one it is well worth popping down to your local department store and browsing the celebrity perfume ailse. Don't be put off by the capitalist tone a "Celeb Parfum" may have and certainly take a close look at Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker, Cindy's Feminine and Kylie's Darling bottles - you should find their scents pleasing and maybe even convinced to add them to your collection.
