Good for what it is!
I'm going to assume that if you're reading this that you are not a hardcore audiophile who is concerned with the best sound they can possibly achieve. You wouldn't be looking at such an inexpensive turntable.
That being said, if you are looking to spin a few records for the least money and the smallest amount of hassle, you can't go wrong with this.
For starters, this is my first record player I've ever owned. I've always said that if I ever saw Bob Dylan's Blonde on Blonde on vinyl I'd by it, just because it's my favorite album. Well, I saw it at a flea market and I bought it, along with 3 other records that I found. I had nothing to play them on. I had no idea if I was going to continue finding records or even how records were going to sound. So I found this Jensen record player and saw some good reviews and decided I should start out cheap. This was perfect for what I wanted!!! It plays all the records I've gotten well and the internal speakers do a good enough job.
I now have 120 records and I just purchased a more expensive turntable, but I will definitely be keeping this one in the bedroom and continue to use it.
Works fine until....
...you try to buy a needle for it. Spectra Industries in Chicago claims to support this item, but doesn't. I have tried to find a replacement needle across the interwebs, but nothing. So, if you are careful (very careful) this is a good value. Lightweight, easy to set up, sounds pretty good, and priced right. Just don't break the needle.
