Low-cost Airline Opens Turkey Property Up To Italian Purchasers
Leading property portal House Sales Turkey (http://www.housesalesturkey.com/) reports
that Italian low-cost airline Blue Express Airlines has launched flights to Istanbul in Turkey from Rome and Milan. These cheap and regular flights could well see a boost to property sales in Turkey now that the country has increased its accessibility to Italian tourists and second home purchasers, as well as furthering Turkeys attraction for real estate investors.
Blue Express Airlines is a popular low-cost Italian carrier which has been flying as the value brand of Blue Panorama Airlines since 2005. Blue Express saw the appeal of Turkey as a holiday (and holiday home) destination, adding routes from Rome to Istanbul in December 2009 and then from Milan to Istanbul in March 2010. Flights start from just 70 including taxes and there are six flights per week on both routes, all flying in to Istanbul Sabiha Gken Airport. Like other low-cost airlines, the company saves time (and therefore money) by not allocating seating prior to boarding.
Interviewed in Hurriyet Daily News (via Dogan News Agency), Blue Expresss PR Manager Giovanni Todini was quoted as saying We started Rome flights three months ago. The figures we have attained have satisfied us. Therefore we have decided on Milan-Istanbul route as the secondary destination. We expect the market to increase furtherIstanbul is an incredible city with both European and Eastern attractions. It is a very attractive holiday destination for Italians. Many Italians prefer Istanbul for summer holidays... It is also an advantage that Turkish people resemble Italians. Moreover, Istanbul is not as expensive as Italy, which is a fact that draws many Italians for shopping.
Increasing accessibility is always positive for a countrys tourism and real estate market and this news is sure to benefit property in Turkey. Italians are more likely to buy a house in Turkey as a holiday home if it is easy, quick and cheap to get there. Similarly, real estate investors are likely to be further attracted to Turkish properties now that more Europeans can easily access the country, increasing rental and resale opportunities.
