For the LPG saving equipment for cars to be effective, the magnetic field in it must be at high gauss to eliminate the possibility of demagnetization before the gas reaches the combustion chamber. All fuels contain groupings of hydrocarbons on entering a magnetic field. The fuel then changes orientation of magnetization by going to the direction opposite to that of the magnetic field. This way, the configuration of the fuel molecules change. The resultant product is a finely divided fuel. The finely divided fuel (gas) burns in total and in the process producing higher energy output, improved gas economy, more power and reduction in the amount of hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and other emissions produced through the exhaust system. The use of magnetically transformed gas molecules has additional effect of ensuring a clean engine by dissolving carbon build-up in the fuel injectors, combustion chamber and carburetor jets.

The installation of an LPG saving equipment for cars is done without any adjustments to a cars fuel line or ignition system. The equipment is simply installed between the fuel pumping apparatus and either a carburetor or fuel injectors. This is to reduce the possibility of other car engine parts being magnetized. It is common for the lower part of the equipment that connects to the fuel chamber to be made of non-magnetic material. To reduce the possibility of the gas that comes out of the equipment from being demagnetized, such materials as brass, copper and stainless steel are used.

Most of the LPG saving equipments have been subjected to tests to ascertain their effectiveness and some have been proved to be efficient. However, as with other car accessories, there are some whose effectiveness have not been proved. This calls for the need for car owners to be careful when buying such equipments.
