MLM sponsoring is one of the key skills you need to learn to create big success in network marketing.
However, it's not just a numbers game. Prospecting and signing up the wrong prospects can actually work against you. You can waste valuable time and energy that might be better used mentoring other team members who are more likely to be productive.
One of the things I really like about network marketing and the way we train our team to build their business is that you can be very selective about who you bring onto your team. I do not try to enroll every prospect that comes along. In fact, over the years I've become very quick to disqualify prospects who don't meet certain standards.
A lot of times leads are skeptical. And that's OK...to a point. But, if a lead is going to require a lot of convincing, we train our team members to let somebody else sponsor them into their mlm.
Of all of the kinds of people who look at my business, skeptics are usually the ones who will use up more of my time, be more prone to be excuse-makers, and require re-convincing over and over again. There is just no point in enrolling them.
Here are the three mlm sponsoring strategies we train our team to make working with skeptical prospects easier:
Rather than focus on numbers, focus on bringing team-builders onto your team. It's always more beneficial to prospect quality people.
No one potential team member will make or break your business. Do not become emotionally attached to sponsoring anyone. Always be ready to disqualify a prospect and go on to the next one.
Do not try to convince anyone. Put prospects through your information pipeline. Answer their questions. Follow up with them. If they are still skeptical, let them go.
