Want to discover how to create any Manga drawing or character you could possibly dream of? Well sit back and continue reading this article because it will be of great value to you. I'll explain some core techniques behind the structure of a manga character, how to use the right facial features to give that signature Manga look, and even how to write your own Manga script.
To be able to draw Manga correctly, you must understand the core building blocks behind the character. You want to start with a stick figure to begin with. Sketch out the feet and core components of the body. Also, give yourself guidelines of where eyes, lips, ears, and hair will be. Use basic shapes, but add to them at the same time. If you're new to this concept, please keep reading.
Manga has it's own unique style due to the shape of the hair and eyes. The clothing and weapons are unique, but the eyes and hair are the major features of any Anime character. You want to draw big, maybe even square like eyes almost like rectangles and shape them slowly to make the right look. The hair is probably the hardest part of the whole process; at least it was for me. You want to experiment with different lines and angles to get the effect right. Add waves and sharp points!
If you're into giving more life than just drawing the Manga characters, then you may want to learn how to write good Manga script. Pick up any Manga book you or a friend may have and you'll understand the style. You want the script to be punchy and captivating. You want to also accent your word baloons with unique shapes and sizes depending on the emotion involved.
Well, these were very basic steps to setting out on a Manga creation adventure. I went over the three core building blocks to get you on the right path. From starting with a stick figure, to the facial shapes, and the story creation. Although this was a very basic layout, I had bought a book that taught me the techniques behind all of these core elements and how to do them successfully. If you'd like to see some examples, a free chapter of the book, or are just curious to view more then go here and check out Mad About Manga. It's a very good book and really kick started my Manga drawing career.
