Magaluf, The Surprising Family Favourite!

Magaluf seems to have gained somewhat of an unfair reputation over the years as a

destination controlled by rowdy teens and typical British culture, however the resort boasts much more than this with something to suit all tastes, ages and budgets. Situated on the southwest corner of Majorca the resort is one of the most popular holiday destinations for those looking for a vibrant break. Although it is true that the resort caters mainly for the 18-30 crowds there are plenty of other activities and attractions to enjoy during a Magaluf break.

Just like other typical Spanish resorts visitors can soak up the guaranteed hot, summer sunshine and revel in the cloudless skies. Temperatures often reach the high thirties especially during the summer months, those looking to return home a few shades darker will definitely be in the right place. One of the most popular family orientated attractions of a holiday in Magaluf is the many water sports on offer. From inflatable rubber ring rides to scenic parasailing trips, the possibilities are endless. Along with the many above water activities there are also ample opportunities for snorkelling and scuba diving, the marine life in the resort is varied, colourful and just waiting to be explored.

If you do not fancy getting soaked, there are plenty of spectacular beaches to enjoy that are all covered in fine white sand. The atmosphere ranges from typical family beaches to the livelier stretches that are used for beach parties. Expect to find plenty of sun loungers and beach cafes around the sand that are ideal for picking up a refreshing snack on a hot day. More active travellers will definitely appreciate the great golf, tennis and go-karting facilities in Magaluf, perfect for a fun filled family day out.

Shopping in Magaluf is varied with everything for the usual array of souvenir shops to high street labels to be found around the resort. There is no weekly market in the area however visitors can enjoy exploring the car boot sale that takes place each Saturday morning. The regular buses to Palma will provide any serious shopper with some retail therapy with plenty of designer boutiques and labels to indulge in.
