Clean energy is possible with a magnetic generator thanks to the inner workings of magnets
. If you are seriously considering putting together your own magnetic power generator, then an indepth and better understanding of the properties of magnets would probably be considered a good thing if you don't already know how they work. You might not know it but magnets and what they are made from aren't always the same. The existence of magnets has been known since ancient Greek times where magnetic fields were discovered in lodestone. Since that time, scientists have continued to examine and research them and the force and energy that their magnetic fields create.
Magnets come in all shapes and sizes and the strength of their magnetic fields and materials they are made from can vary. Look in most kitchens around the world and you'll see on fridges the most typical kind of magnet call permanent magnets. This kind of magnet is what most people would be familiar with. These magnets create a magnetic field all the time. They don't turn themselves on or off and they are always making a magnetic field. This ability is why fridge magnets don't suddenly fall off your fridge door. Beyond hard magnets, there is another kind called temporary magnets. As you might be able to guess from the name, these kinds of magnets aren't always "on". The magnetic field that they create doesn't last forever. So when are they considered magnets? When they are in the presence of a magnetic field and for a little time after, they continue to produce their own magnetic field. Only at these times are they called magnets. The final kind of magnet is an electromagnet. The presence of electricity in the wires of electromagnetic magnets creates a magnetic field.
Besides having three different kinds of magnets, there are different materials that can be used in the construction of them. Ceramic magnets are the kind stuck to your fridge. These ceramic magnets are what you will find in schools. They contain iron oxide in a ceramic composite. Ceramic magnets are the weakest kind. Alnico magnets are constructed from aluminum, nickel and cobalt. Unlike ceramic magnets, these ones are actually much stronger but still don't come anywhere near the power from rare-earth metal magnets. Rare-earth metal magnets fall into two groups; neodymium and samarium cobalt. These two groups of magnets offer the strongest magnetic fields known to this day.
So just how do magnets work? Magnets make electromagnetic fields because all the magnetic domains in them are aligned in the same direction. A magnetic domain is basically a small magnet in itself. Most of the time, the magnetic domains in iron and other magnetic materials aren't aligned and they cancel each other out. The strength of a magnetic field increases as you align more and more magnetic domains in the same direction. This is what makes magnets do what they do.
Magnetic generators rely entirely on the magnetic field produced by magnets. Home owners are able to harness these magnetic fields as a source of energy to make their own home electricity from magnetic power generators. You'll have a much great appreciate of the home electricity you create thanks to knowing just how magnets and your magnetic generator works.
