Maidenhead - Berkshire in comparison to other towns that are in England is quite

a new addition but this does not mean that it comes without its history and character. It was not until 1724 that it was actually known as Maidenhead.

Travellers began using the town as a place to stop and rest and a throughway once the bridge had been built to allow them to pass safely over the Thames. This meant more business for them and was literally what put them on the map to begin with.

Back then it took people a days travel to reach London so they needed everything within the vicinity. It seems that the breweries were also a priority with their being 4 functional ones all running at the same time.

From this time there are a lot more people who now call Maidenhead their home. This allows them to be close to the town yet still enjoy a kind of village life.

One of the great things about it is not having to drive when you want to look around. To get to or from Paddington station by train will take you only half hour which considering it used to take a day to commute is a short time.

Even the young people enjoy what is on offer here. They are more than catered for and don't have the temptation to get into trouble when they can join one of many clubs or go to a cafe that has been set up with them in mind, letting them play on the computer with others their age and practice their vocals on the karaoke. There are many great schools nearby giving them the best start to the rest of their lives.

If you want luxury accommodation during your time here then look at the hotels that give you all you could possibly want from the finest foods to round the clock service. Not everyone finds this is within their budget but you can stop overnight at one of the B and Bs making sure you are fuelled for your journey the following day. The centre for arts is popular too with all on offer to do with art from dance, stage and chocolate making (and tasting of course).

Why not go to the crowds when you want to and be able to stay away from the hustle and bustle of an evening if you so desire by finding holiday accommodation in Maidenhead, you can then travel to the busier nearby towns and cities that give you many famous tourist attractions.

If the children have been nagging to go to Legoland, or you would love to see Windsor castle make Maidenhead the place you stay so no more tears when the kids get too tired or long journeys back to your home.
