Maintaining A Healthy And Happy Home For Your Child
Your child has a right to a healthy and happy home
. Denying him this basic right is nothing less than cruel. An innocent child should never be brought into the world without loving parents or guardians, a good home, and the support of friends and community. To help your child grow into a mature, well-rounded adult, you have to start your efforts at home. Here are a few tips to help you ensure that your home provides your children with everything they need to grow.
1.Make it a rule among grownups to avoid using inappropriate language. Adults are guilty of forgetting to put the brakes on their mouths when they are angry, surprised or even elated. While its sometimes understandable when they let slip a cuss word in the heat of the moment, this should NEVER turn into a bad habit. Children are quick to pick up things from adults, and that includes naughty language, which certainly dont have a place in a healthy and happy home. So watch that tongue of yours. In the same light, make sure the TV shows that you view within earshot of your children do not spew unwelcome language.
2.Provided they are not allergic to pets, let them have one. Having a pet adds to the happiness factor of a family. Whether its a hamster, a puppy or a kitten, a pet is always a source of joy for young children and adults alike. But as indicated, make sure your children are not allergic to them. You cant have a healthy and happy family if most are sneezing and wheezing from all the animal dander!
3.Make your home a venue for occasional family reunions. Invite their grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins who happen to live nearby for a once-a-month brunch or dinner. Its important to let them know that family is also about other relatives who may not see often, but are still flesh and blood they can count on. This makes them feel secure, more loved and more family-oriented.
4.Allot space for their leisure activities. Kids can get bored playing in their own bedrooms so they will look elsewhere for variety. Find space in your house where they can play and do their hobbies undisturbed. But in the same vein, it should be a spot where they will not be a bother to dozing or working adults. Finding this balance can be somewhat tricky if you live in a tiny home, but its essential in order to keep your abode a healthy and happy haven for all.
5.If budget constraints leave you homebound on weekends, make it fun for them. Some weekends, you might find yourself staying at home because you dont have enough disposable income to go to the movies, a restaurant or the mall for some shopping. Thats okay. You can still have fun at home without having to spend a lot. Put together an in-house picnic for your family serving wholesome foods and watch a movie on cable TV. Thats just one example of a healthy and happy and inexpensive - activity you can do as a family in your own home environment.
Every child has the right to a healthy and happy home. An ideal home doesnt have to be one thats expensive or way beyond your means, so money and other factors shouldnt prevent you from building one. What really matters is that you maintain an environment full of love and understanding for your children.
