History

Palace on Wheels train is the outcome of the efforts taken by Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation and Indian Railways. This Indian royal train presently serving the tourists was earlier used by the erstwhile rulers of the princely state of Rajputanas, Gujrat, Nizams of Hyderabad and the Viceroy of British India. The common man was not allowed to travel by this train.

Facilities

Palace on Wheels train is a luxury train equipped with all the modern day comforts and impeccable facilities. The imperial train comes with air- conditioned deluxe saloon, twin bedded chambers with channel music, intercom, attached washrooms with hot and cold running water, shower, wall to wall carpeting, newspaper, magazines, mineral water, arrival kit and other amenities.

Dinning and Restaurant

The royal train Palace on Wheels comes with two exclusive restaurants namely Maharaja and Maharani. The food served at this imperial train is prepared by the well trained chefs which serves lip-smacking delicacies which will surely increase your taste buds.

The restaurants offer multi- cuisine food items including Indian, Chinese and Continental especially the authentic Rajasthani food.

Recreational facilities

Palace on Wheels train comes with a set of fascinating recreational facilities like a well stocked bar serving wines, liquor, Indian and International spirits.
