You will have to continue to have a constant working agenda that allows you to properly handle your new career.

Another challenge is having the resources you need. If you have a career with any business where you are not the owner but rather an employee you can request certain resources and the boss provides them. These resources can range from a new pen to new software. If you have your very own business to run you must come up with the money to be able to purchase the right resources and not depend on other people to buy it for you.

A third challenge is to have a community that you can rely upon to help you out. Once again in a traditional career you will have fellow employees that you can bounce ideas off of and be friends with. You can discuss issues and problems you are having and depend on one another to support each other. When you have a work from home career you will need to develop your own sense of community within your business area.

Another specific challenge is keeping yourself organized. In an office situation there is a general understanding that an employee will keep their work area tidy and presentable. This usually comes up on a performance review at the end of the year. If you have a work from home career you will need to develop your own organizational method. You will need to keep your records up to date and not allow your business dealings to slip through the cracks.

A final challenge is to understand that your business and thus your career only depend upon you. In a traditional career there are lots of employees and usually someone else is fully responsible for all the decisions being made in the business. You must know that the pressure is all upon you to make your business work. This can be overwhelming at times to know that if you do not work then your business is at a stand still.

These challenges are in your face as a business owner and can result in a few sleepless nights. All of those challenges may also be conquered. You can experience a lovely work at home career. You must understand these challenges are coming and handle them properly.
