Make An Effective Email Form For Potential Subscribers
One of the most important facets of email marketing is the actual email form. In order to actual have a potential subscriber sign up, you need to make an effective email form. Why? Because there are so many websites offering relatively the same advice, that you need an email form that seals the deal and entices your audience to sign up. You need to make the form colored well that it draws there attention, you need to have it located someplace where they will see it, and you need to add text that makes them want to sign up.
The colors you use with an effective email form will vary depending upon your website, industry, and how flamboyant you want to be. If you have a fairly conservative, non-flashy website, you can use fairly traditional colors and still attract attention to your form. Your industry will help decide which colors they are; if you are in the relationship/love industry, perhaps you will choose red, pink, or black. If you are a "get rich" industry you will probably want colors of power and wealth. There are also email forms available with designs, with which you can play to see it thy attract any potential subscribers. If you have a cluttered website, you want to have colors to stand out as so people actually see you email form. You do not need to go overboard, but you need people to notice your form in order for them to sign up.
You want you email form to be located so potential subscribers can conveniently locate and sign up. Two popular ways to position email forms are in sidebars and on their own "squeeze" page. If you have a sidebar that does not change no matter on what page your viewer is, you can sit the email form near the top of the page and everyone will notice the form regardless on what page they are. This is great for people who are not necessarily marketing only one item. A "squeeze" page is a promotion page affiliate marketers use when they promote an item, which they use to get attention to the item for people to purchase the item or sign up for more info (for both the item and to get the potential subscriber on the marketer's list). I do not have a squeeze page, so I use the sidebar technique (which I would use anyhow to allow the potential subscribers to sign up regardless of what page they are viewing).
What the email forms says will make the difference between a subscriber and a one time page viewer. If you offer someone to sign up, and advertise you are giving away something for free, you will gain many more subscribers than by saying, "sign up for my newsletter". Okay, perhaps that works for a favorite Italian restaurant, but not for something about which people are unsure. You want to let them know they are getting something out of it; the free item does not have to be extremely elaborate, just a PDF file a few pages long. To finish the deal, replace "Submit" on the submit button with some line about how they need that free guide. Get it in their heads that they need something. After that, you will have a new subscriber for your email marketing campaign!
Email marketing is an extremely easy, extremely effective way to grow your business and get new sales. But you have to actually get people to sign up. You need traffic to your site, but you also need people willing to sign up. To make an effective email form for potential subscribers, you need to have the proper color scheme, position, and text. With those three, you will be one step closer to domination!
