Children are tempted by muffins a great deal. Since they are moist, you can make many and keep them for a few days. Here we have the recipe for muffins with oatmeal and yoghurt. On top of all that, the best thing is that they are best in nutrition value. They would prevent your children from getting towards junk food. There are many kids who run away from things like oatmeal and yoghurt. The best way to make them eat these things is through the muffins that can be really appealing to the kids.
Of course here we are presenting a single recipe, but you can always make alterations according to your own taste and what would work best for you. So here goes the recipe. All you would need is:
1 cup oats
1 cup yoghurt (unsweetened)
1 egg
1 and a quarter cup flour (self raising)
Half a cup vegetable oil
Half a cup sugar
1 mashed banana
Half a teaspoon cinnamon
You could have different flavors other than banana, these could include chocolate chips and nuts or you could have other fruits and berries. That all depends on your choice, and what your kids love to eat.
You would have to mix the oatmeal and yoghurt and together and leave them for almost half an hour. Then after beating the egg and the sugar, add in the oil and the flour and the yoghurt mixture. Then add in the mashed banana or whatever flavor you want. This recipe will make 12 large muffins. The baking time is supposed to be maximum 20 min if you bake it at 200 degrees C.
Whether you have made small muffins or large muffins, they will be best for being out in the lunch boxes. If you make large ones, they would make 12 pieces, and if you make small ones they would make 24. For children, giving two small ones is better than giving one large. They would have a feeling of getting more and would be happier about it. This recipe for muffins is a tried one and is going to serve as the best one. Just check out what your kids love the most. If they like raisins, nuts and of course chocolate then include these things in the muffins. Flavor should be according to the choice of your kids. They are definitely going to love these and eventually ask for more and more.
